Assistive Technology in the Classroom
At the Early Childhood Education Center, Assistive Technology is an integral part of our programs -- not a separate therapy.
All staff members are familiar with the various uses of "low-tech" as well as "high tech" applications for children with a
variety of handicapping conditions. It is not solely the domain of the Assistive Technology Coordinator. All of us are
partners in determining what strategies and tools can further each child's development. We have found that by including
simple Assistive Technology in our programming for young children, we enrich our curriculum, our teaching, and our
therapies.
